The time of year is here again!
The ballot for the Rondo Hatton Awards are out (Click HERE to go to the Rondo Hatton Awards site).
The award winners are choosen by fans like you and me, and are given to those who showed excellence in the field of horror.
It is name in honor of Rondo Hatton (1894-1946), the hulking actor from such films as "House of Horrors" and "The Spider Woman Strikes Back", and known for his role as "The Creeper". Hatton suffered from acromegaly, which deformed his bones and face. While working as a reporter in Florida a director noticed his unique features and cast him for a small part. Universal Pictures in the 1940s used him as the heavy in their B pictures (such as "Sherlock Holmes and The Pearl of Death", the first film where he appeared as "The Creeper"). Despite his outward appearance, Hatton was described as a sweet man by those who knew or worked with him.
Make sure to email in your selections (and if you want to do a write in vote for a certain short green horror host in category 19, Favorite Horror Host of 2010, I won't stop you) and get them in by March 27th 2011.
Until Next Time,
Stay Insane!
